Arlette Smith, CMT - Arlette feels blessed to be able to help others, using her excellent technical bodywork skills and focused intention to promote natural healing.
A native of Virginia Beach, Arlette is a graduate of the Advanced Fuller School of Massage Therapy's 600 hour program and has been Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork since 2003. Arlette has taken advanced training in deep tissue massage, treatment of upper body injuries, and in specialized techniques for relieving tension, headaches, and insomnia. She enjoys practicing a variety of bodywork modalities, including pre-natal massage, trigger point therapy, and hot stone treatments.

A member of Landmark Education since 1993, Arlette believes that the courses she has taken through that organization have created positive and permanent shifts in the quality of her life, providing her with the freedom and power to transform possibilities into realities. She enjoys the arts, the ocean, traveling to the Outer Banks, and especially values spending quality time with family and friends.
Says Arlette, " My mission is to work with and through others with the purest of intentions to help people feel a sense of self worth - to be a helper, healer, and compassionate friend. I want to lead a confident and authentic life to the fullest and inspire others to do the same!"

Practitioner Spotlight

  • Paula Graham
    Paula Graham
Paula Graham thinks of herself as a musculoskeletal detective working with clients to resolve soft tissue pain, injuries and range of motion limitations. A 2002 graduate of Fuller School of Massage, Paula has expanded on that training by taking advanced courses in neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, active isolated stretching, and myoskeletal alignment technique. She is currently pursuing certification in orthopedic massage, as well as neuromuscular therapy. Both of these specialties focus on assessment and systematic treatment of soft tissue dysfunction to identify and resolve the source of pain quickly. Paula was drawn to this work after treating people who think that they have to live with pain and curtail their activities after finding no relief in the western medical system. Although there are no “magic” cures, Paula doesn’t give up easily.

Because we all need to relax and muscles need maintenance, even when they aren’t hurting, Paula also offers general therapeutic massage in addition to her specific injury treatments.

In her spare time, Paula is a competitive racewalker, an active member of the Tidewater Striders Running/Walking/Multisport Club, makes handmade paper, and is an avid gardener.
